P.S. I grew up as a Black person in Utah (where we
comprise of less than 1% of the population). I never
met my father, but Iworked hard, and I was a straight-A
student. After a decade of military service and
returning from a combat deployment to Afghanistan, my
ex-wife left me and took our kids with her. I was a
good man, and I still AM a good man, and writing
this song helped me process the nearly unbearable
grief I was feeling.
