Deity Guidance and Succession Policy of The Association
1. Purpose and Intent:
To establish the role of the guiding deity (Thayne) in the foundation and development of The Association and to set forth a clear path for succession and continuity.
2. Definitions:
Guiding Deity: Thayne, the founding member and spiritual guide of The Association, tasked with setting up its foundational principles and governance structures.
Core Council: The group of 11 main members of The Association, including the Guiding Deity, responsible for the strategic direction and decisions of the community.
3. Role of the Guiding Deity:
Foundation: Thayne, as the Guiding Deity, will establish the fundamental principles, structures, and guidelines for The Association.
Mentorship: Thayne will mentor the remaining 10 members of the Core Council, ensuring they are equipped to lead The Association in his eventual absence.
Decision Making: Thayne holds a guiding voice, but decisions within the Core Council will be made collaboratively.
4. Succession Planning:
Tenure: Thayne will serve as the Guiding Deity for a predetermined period or until specific milestones are achieved, after which he will relinquish his active guiding role.
Succession: Once Thayne steps back, leadership of The Association will be fully vested in the Core Council, operating as a decentralized body without a single guiding figure.
Honorary Position: After stepping back, Thayne may choose to serve in an honorary or advisory capacity, providing wisdom and insight when needed but without direct decision-making authority.
5. Core Council's Responsibilities:
Collaboration: The Core Council, in the absence of the Guiding Deity, will work collaboratively, ensuring that each member has an equal voice in decisions.
Evolution: The Core Council is responsible for adapting and evolving The Association's policies and directions as needed, always staying true to its foundational principles.
New Members: If a position on the Core Council becomes vacant, the remaining members are responsible for selecting a successor from the broader community of The Association.
6. Amendments:
As with all policies of The Association, this policy can be revised based on the collective decision of the Core Council, ensuring it remains relevant to the community's needs and aspirations.
