## Power Surge 🔌
Sovereignty over one's own life and liberty is in peril. Governing bodies from every nation have seized control over the daily lives of the global populace. Our money is diluted. Our income is over-taxed. Our food supplies are poisoned. And our healthcare systems are in shambles. **Too much power has been concentrated in a single circuit.**
The Federal Reserve and global elites have relentlessly monopolized and over-regulated earth's natural resources behind a veiled facade of acting on behalf of "the greater good". Yet with great power comes great responsibility, and the empowered minority have proven themselves to be grossly negligent, squandering the freedoms of the majority to enrich themselves.
### Bitcoin - The Global Transformer ⚡️
Within the sphere of electronics, a transformer is a device that transfers energy between circuits by increasing or decreasing voltage where necessary. This process is analogous to the advent of Bitcoin as a global currency, able to transfer power from financial institutions, over to individuals willing and able to custody their own wealth.
### The Resistors ∞
Resistors are key components in electrical circuits, used to reduce current flows, adjust signal levels, divide voltages, and terminate transmission lines. In other words, these **very small items influence and control the extent to which great power is distributed.** Likewise, the Resistants exist to expose and oppose the corruption of fiat and the centralization of testnets.
Because, since the inception of Bitcoin, a myriad of alternative blockchains have been deployed over the years. Although very few of these offer any sort of applicable benefits without sacrificing either decentralization, security, or scalability. The vast majority being **zombie chains that siphon liquidity** away from retail speculators attempting to collect and invest in "the next big thing". However, Ordinals and Runes have introduced an elevated form of Art collection and token speculation backed by the proven resilience and liquidity of Bitcoin.
### Ohms Amplifiers 🎚️
Just as Ohms are the unit measure of resistance, and amplifiers increase the magnitude of a signal, so too will the Resistants magnify Bitcoin.

It's debated whether or not this quote originated with Henry Kissinger, but its truth remains. Financial institutions like global banks and the federal reserve have controlled our money supply, and thus controlled the world. However, **Satoshi Nakamoto [planted a battle flag] on the hill of finance** in 2009, birthing Bitcoin as a new and improved form of money. Not backed by militaries, debt, or treasury bills, but by math and energy in the form of computational power.
### Circuit Breakers ⌁
The powers that be, distract us over non-essential differences, thereby dividing and conquering us. But just as the circuit breaker in your home can cut off the energy to various appliances and rooms, so too should we sever the divisiveness they've sewn amongst us, to channel our energy together to the more important matters - like the **freedom** to transact, the **freedom** to access water and grow crops or herds, and the **freedom** to build digital infrastructure and applications, all **without fear of prosecution.**
Those of you who would stand against governmental overreach and abuse of power, are like these electrical resistors, reducing power levels and terminating transmission lines where they should not exist.

### The Power of Ants 🐜
The power of ants is that they work together; a trait unique among most insects. A Colony is one big family, consisting of a Queen, workers, soldiers, and drones - each with their own skill sets devoted to protecting and growing the colony. **So too is the human race also one big family, consisting of various ethnicities, nationalities, beliefs, and customs.** But where we differ from ants, is that we work against one another more than we work together. And this tragedy is expounded upon and exploited by a malicious minority of self-seeking devourers.
A united colony of ants with a singular focus can bring down an elephant. But if that colony is dispersed or preoccupied with debating one another over personal preferences, ideologies, or methodologies, then it will never achieve its goal, and will fall prey to the large and powerful predators around it.

**Symbolism**: In *1882*, Thomas Edison founded [Pearl Street Station] in the middle of Manhattan’s financial district, as the first permanent central power station supplying incandescent lighting. Edison plugged his idea into the financial capital of the world and lit the skies.
As such, minting for *The Resistance Rune* begins at block *851882*, and lasts for *1882* blocks - ending amid the 2024 Bitcoin Conference.

- Just as a single ant is little more than a nuisance, but a single-minded colony is a force to be reckoned with - so too must our colony set aside petty differences, to **focus on the proliferation of Bitcoin as the world's most secure and decentralized form of money and public ledger of account, as well as the most robust digital art gallery in existence, and fairest casino on the planet**. Bitcoin does everything better.
## Circuitry ⤳
Electricity is the flow of electrons between atoms. Without a network, electricity dissipates. But without a Control Center, electricity is directionless. The Resistants project itself serves as the Control Center, while the colony serves as its network of cabling.
From the Control Center, we will create **materials, articles, tweets, and media, to promote Bitcoin, Ordinals, and Runes, and the colony will amplify the voltage**. The only sanctioned PFPs associated with The Resistants would be original artworks airdropped to top holders, originating from the rune etching address. But we aim to band all PFPs together, resisting contentious division, so as to increase our collective reach, and we welcome community contributions with open arms.
